This is my 3rd story in the WINOL bulletin, its on national unemployment. I had trouble with the camera and as a result i had to re-frame my shots during the editing process as some of the shots had not captured correctly, this means that the clips do look blurry. I have once again included the script.
Unemployment story
Unemployment in Winchester has remained at 1.3% over the last month despite a national increase in the number of people without jobs.
Unemployment has hit a 17 year high; the worst since records began in the 1990's it was announced today. There are now over 2.5 million people unemployed in the UK and young people are some of the worst hit. Nearly a million 16-24 year olds are out of work.
Liz Field, CEO of Financial Skills Partnership said, “The job market remains extremely competitive, so it is very important for young people to be flexible, some experience is better than no experience. Young people should look at initiatives such as work experience to differentiate themselves and develop a range of transferable employability skills that employers are look for”
There is also a record drop in the number of part -time workers, down by 175,000, with students finding it harder to get themselves part time jobs in between studies, while graduates are also finding it harder to get a job after completing their studies.
