Bins OOV Script:
Saving 2 million pounds a year is the aim of Winchester City Council after agreeing a new environmental services contract with East Hampshire District Council. Biffa Waste services will take over the contract from Serco.
The saving is hoped to be made through more efficient bin collection routes, flexible working patterns and efficient use of vehicles. According to Robert Heathcock; assistant director of high quality environment at Winchester City Council, all jobs under the old contract will be transferred over to Biffa.
Calendars have been sent out to the homes of residents informing them of new bin collection days as a result of the change which will come into effect on the 17th October.
