Winol- Last weeks bulletin

Each week blogging about the WINOL bulletins become harder and harder as there are less negative points to write about and more positive ones! This week brought a change of presenters, who for their first attempt at presenting were very good and showed few signs of nerves.
Beginning with the crime story, which was the biggest story was a very good start to the bulletin. The use of CCTV footage, pictures of the incident and interviews with the victim were all very good, however the relation to students was hard to find, despite the incident happening in Winchester.
I was very impressed with the link to the news room during the cuts story, I thought this was a very good idea and looked very professional, however the camera seemed to be facing up at the very tall person being interviewed and therefore there was a glistening onto the camera, as well as an awkward angle which as a result meant what was being said was hard to listen to as a result of these distractions.
I still felt that there were a few unrelated shots during the ‘staff stress’ story and again found this of little relevance to students, however the reading of notes in front of camera by the reporter was much better.
The David Gower interview was one of the more intriguing stories and one which the audience would also enjoy watching as it involves a celebrity and a well known sports person being interviewed in Winchester after graduation which is a big event for the university.
Ending with sport was a very good idea, however the interview in the studio, despite being a good ideas, looked unprofessional as the presenter was asking questions but not really listening or responding to the answer given, therefore it seemed like questions were too quickly being thrown at the person being interviewed.
I was however disappointed with the Halloween ending to the bulletin, and was left confused despite understanding the Halloween link, it seemed inappropriate and unrelated.
