Winchester court visit

Tuesday afternoon saw me and a few other journalism students walk down into Winchester to visit the courts, however after a period of becoming lost in a local grassy area and the little time we had to visit the courts as a result of a lecture later in the day, by the time we arrived at the courts, there were no cases currently in progress due to lunch and therefore the visit was suspended.
Wednesday morning however we were all ready and prepared for our court visit. This time we were very early ensuring that we would not miss the begging of any court case. After a few toilet breaks we were ready to enter, very nervously, after being checked for metal objects. We were all surprised by the size and look of the court, and in our spear time before the beginning of the case, spent our time wisely viewing in amazement, the size and amount of games, video, televisions and other things, walking an open witness room!
The court case begun, and again we were all very surprised at the lay-out the court, extremely different to that of what was expected from any court I had witnessed or expected before. As a result of not wanting to be sued or sent to prison for giving details of the court case improperly I will not state who was involved or what the case was about. However I can say that it was extremely interesting and was the main talking point on the way back to the university. It also gave me an idea of what reporting on the courts would be like, preparing me for the future.
I can honestly say I will be returning to the courts soon, and will be looking out for the conclusion of the case which we viewed.
