Back to week 1 of WINOL

Well Christmas is over and we are back! Ready to crack on with WINOL! This term I have been given the role of Sports editor! This is the role I was after and was so pleased to get it! I am pleased that i started to enjoy news reporting last year and really started to get the hang of it and as a result i was very pleased with the results for last term! I am really looking forward to this term as sport reporting is what i want to do for a career and hopefully, now i have the experience of news reporting i will be even better at it. I was very nervous at first as i haven't done sport before and the prospect of being editor seemed daunting however i am really looking forward to it.

For the first two weeks we wont have a WINOL bulletin and this has given me the time to get my head around my role. I have spoken to previous editors and asked for their opinions and advice and i have also been given passwords and other important information. These two weeks will also give me the chance to organise what i want from my team this year. We are in the process of discussing an ambitious project at the home of Southampton football club; St Mary's stadium, as well as deciding which events and news we are looking to cover. I think this year the sports team will be very successful despite having a much smaller team this year.

Last night i went to film my first football match which i felt went very well and was very enjoyable despite the freezing weather and mist! All in all it was a good experience and i look forward to more of these in the coming weeks.
